Nectar In Other Game Settings

Though Nectar was created for a Space: 1889 campaign, gamemasters may wish to use it in some other game universe.

Fantasy:

Take away the Victorian technology and the ancient Martian devices and Nectar fits neatly into a fantasy campaign. It would need to be located in a desert region where magically-aided engineering carved the canals to bring water. The inhabitants are either elves or a variant race of humans. The Terrans are the true humans who are are invading the area.

Science Fiction:

In a more futuristic science fiction campaign, Nectar can be a city on some distant desert world. The low-tech inhabitants of the planet have recently been contacted by advanced starfaring aliens. One or more of the Terran factions could be replaced with a rival interstellar power. For example, in a classic Star Trek game, replace the Americans with the Federation and the Belgians with the Klingons.
