I am intending to put these in/under the mirror housing on the ST. The red line is approximately the bodywork outline:

The spherical base looks like it will be too big to use in this application. The housings can swivel, but they are limited in there forward travel by the base part's outer diameter. I also didn't like that I would have an open cup to possibly collect water and funnel it into the light housing. I found some smaller diameter metric spherical washers at
