Hello, my name is Doug and I hold a FCC Amateur Extra Class License. I have been an avid DXer and contester since 1998. I enjoy SSB, CW, RTTY, and PSK31. I live on a city lot that is only about ⅓ of an acre and it has been big challenge to be successful in contests and DXCC. As of 2011, I have 275 confirmed countries with 5BDXCC and 17 meters. I am awaiting QSL cards to finish on 30 and 12 meters. 160 meters will take me a few more years but am making progress. I enjoy homebrewing as much as possible with the hobby to help keep up my electronics skills. I also help my local club, the Alamance Amateur Radio Club, K4EG, by teaching Technician and General classes and serving as an ARRL Volunteer Examiner. Hopefully we will meet on the bands one day.
