1978 MGB

Ever wonder what the MGB looks like with the dashboard removed? It is actually not very hard to do.
There are a few multi-wire connectors for the harness (disconnect the battery first!).
The instruments come out by turning them about an eighth of a turn - there is a spring-loaded ring behind the gauge's trim
and small protrusions on the side of the case fit into notches in the dashboard. Then there are some bolts along the top edge -
reach through the instrument openings and the fresh air vent opening. Then it looks like this:

Here is what the dash core looks like with the vinyl/foam cover stripped off:

The new cover is attached with contact cement. Place some kraft paper between the core and cover, make sure everything is lined up and then
remove the kraft paper. The edges of the new cover are folded over and glued in place with contact cement. Gentle application of heat - I used a heat gun on low -
helps the vinyl to become more flexible.
Re-assembly is the proverbial 'reverse of disassembly...'
